Times of India · india

An income-tax survey at Gurgaon's Badshapur tehsil has uncovered a large-scale scam where a single fictitious PAN, 'ABCDEF1234', was used for nearly 25,000 property registrations over two years. Preliminary scrutiny suggests another 10,000-12,000 transactions, worth an estimated Rs 15,000 crore, were not reported to the tax department. In total, over 35,000 transactions valued at more than Rs 55,000 crore were either unreported or had incorrect PANs. This action aims to ensure accurate reporting of high-value property deals.
