North Carolina Park Acquisition Uses Grant Funding

Buncombe County, North Carolina, is developing plans for its largest park after acquiring 342 acres of Deaverview Mountain. The county completed the acquisition in March 2026 using 100% grant funding, including significant contributions from the North Carolina Land and Water Fund and the federal Outdoor Recreation Legacy Partnership program. A $1.39 million contract was approved to begin planning the park's future.
