Two extremely rare 1972 Q1 microcomputers were discovered during a house clearance in London in 2023. These machines, predating the Apple 1 by four years, are among only three known surviving models globally. One of the Q1 computers, the 1972 model, later fetched £37,179 at auction, while a Q1 Lite model sold for £8,316 and its companion printer for £1,175. The Q1 represented a significant early step in developing desktop computing capabilities, despite its high initial cost.
