Bulgaria has rapidly emerged as a global leader in battery storage, with capacity now comprising nearly a quarter of its total power infrastructure. In less than two years, the country's battery capacity surged from zero to 5.7 GW, fueled by EU funding and private investment totaling nearly €3 billion. This significant development has positioned Bulgaria with one of the world's highest ratios of battery storage to total power capacity.
