Trichy Corporation Identifies 92 UGD Hotspots Ahead of Monsoon

Trichy Corporation has identified 92 underground drainage (UGD) hotspots across five zones prone to sewer blockages and sewage overflow during the upcoming northeast monsoon. To prevent this, a super sucker truck has been deployed to remove silt from these vulnerable points, ensuring smoother sewage flow. The existing UGD network, covering about 35% of the city, is overburdened, leading to increased silt accumulation. Contributing factors include the dumping of solid waste and sullage into sewers by some commercial properties and residents.

त्रिची निगम ने आने वाले उत्तर-पूर्वी मानसून के दौरान सीवर जाम और सीवेज ओवरफ्लो के लिए अतिसंवेदनशील पांच ज़ोन में 92 अंडरग्राउंड ड्रेनेज (यू.जी.डी.) हॉटस्पॉट की पहचान की है। इसे रोकने के लिए, इन संवेदनशील बिंदुओं से गाद निकालने के लिए एक सुपर सकर ट्रक तैनात किया गया है, जिससे सीवेज का प्रवाह सुचारू हो सके। शहर के लगभग 35% हिस्से को कवर करने वाला मौजूदा यू.जी.डी. नेटवर्क अधिक बोझ से दबा हुआ है, जिससे गाद का जमाव बढ़ रहा है। कुछ व्यावसायिक संपत्तियों और निवासियों द्वारा सीवर में ठोस कचरा और गंदा पानी डालने जैसे कारक भी इसमें योगदान दे रहे हैं।
