Times of India · sports

Shardul Thakur has defended Shreyas Iyer's recent batting performance in the T20I series against New Zealand, stating that the middle-order batter should not be judged on a few games. Thakur explained that Iyer's batting position at number four or five often requires him to adapt to the match situation rather than dictate the momentum. He highlighted the challenges of batting in the middle order, which demands assessing the scoreboard, building an innings, and finishing strongly.
