Slain BJP Councillor's Father Alleges Death Threats After Press Conference

The father of slain BJP councillor Manish Shukla has alleged receiving death threats via phone and WhatsApp after a press conference criticising Barrackpore MLA Kaustav Bagchi. Chandramani Shukla stated the caller, identifying as Aravind Pal from Germany, accused him of exploiting his son's death and threatened him for associating with BJP's Santosh Singh. He has lodged a complaint with Khardah police and informed BJP leadership. Manish Shukla was shot dead in 2020, and recent political developments involving individuals previously linked to the Trinamool Congress prompted Bagchi's press conference.
