Buxa Tigress Captured in Assam After Two-Hour Operation

A tigress that strayed from Buxa Tiger Reserve into Assam's Raimona National Park was captured on Tuesday evening after a two-hour operation. The capture involved three kunki elephants from Bengal, earthmovers, and personnel from both states. The tigress was tranquillised and will be kept in a 2.2-hectare acclimatisation enclosure in Buxa. This marks the third time the radio-collared tigress has been tranquillised in 34 days, following earlier captures for refitting her radio collar.

बक्सा टाइगर रिजर्व से निकलकर असम के रैमोना नेशनल पार्क में पहुंची बाघिन को मंगलवार शाम दो घंटे के ऑपरेशन के बाद पकड़ा गया। इस ऑपरेशन में बंगाल के तीन कुनकी हाथी, अर्थमूवर और दोनों राज्यों के कर्मचारी शामिल थे। बाघिन को बेहोश कर दिया गया है और उसे बक्सा में 2.2 हेक्टेयर के एक बड़े बाड़े में रखा जाएगा। यह रेडियो कॉलर वाली बाघिन को 34 दिनों में तीसरी बार बेहोश किया गया है, इससे पहले उसके रेडियो कॉलर को ठीक करने के लिए उसे पकड़ा गया था।
