Floods Hit 63 Villages, 525 Evacuated

A 72-hour deluge in Chhattisgarh caused rivers to swell, leading to floods in Bhamragarh, Gadchiroli. At least 525 people were evacuated from 63 villages and several hamlets that were marooned. Road connectivity was disrupted as water levels rose alarmingly. Three seriously ill individuals, including a schoolgirl, were rescued and taken for medical treatment. The flooding was primarily due to heavy rainfall in Chhattisgarh's upper catchment areas, causing a sudden rise in rivers flowing towards Bhamragarh.
