Edinburgh Zoo has welcomed two endangered Asiatic lion cubs, marking a significant conservation milestone after a seven-year wait. The cubs, born on October 11, 2026, to first-time mother Bindee and father Jayendra, are currently kept away from the public to allow for bonding. This birth is the first at the zoo since 2019, highlighting the challenges faced by Asiatic lions, which are native to a single region in India. Keepers are closely monitoring the cubs' health during their crucial early months.
