During a Supreme Court hearing concerning attacks on women journalists during protests in Delhi, Solicitor General Tushar Mehta stated it is difficult to distinguish between genuine journalists and those recording videos for social media reels. He noted that many individuals with microphones claim to be recording but then upload content as reels, blurring the lines of professional journalism. Senior advocate Indira Jaising argued that the affected journalists were performing their duties and requested an interim order.
