The Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau (VACB) has seized five files from the Kannur district panchayat office concerning contracts worth over ₹12 crore awarded to Carton India Alliance Private Limited. These contracts were granted during the tenure of former district panchayat president P.P. Divya. A complaint alleges that Carton India is a benami firm of Ms. Divya and that the contracts were awarded irregularly. The seized files pertain to projects like modular toilets and an Animal Birth Control centre.
