Kanpur SI Suspended For Pressuring Victim In Blackmail Case

Kanpur Police Commissioner Raghubir Lal has suspended Sub-Inspector Naveen Kumar of Ghatampur police station. The suspension comes after a woman alleged that Kumar pressured her to compromise in a blackmail and extortion case involving her 13-year-old daughter. The daughter was allegedly blackmailed on Instagram, leading to the extortion of Rs 1.52 lakh. When the woman approached the police, she claims Kumar and another officer pressured her for a compromise instead of taking action. An inquiry has also been ordered against outpost in-charge Shiva Singh.

कानपुर पुलिस कमिश्नर रघुबीर लाल ने घाटमपुर थाने के सब-इंस्पेक्टर नवीन कुमार को निलंबित कर दिया है। यह कार्रवाई एक महिला के आरोपों के बाद हुई है, जिसमें उसने दावा किया कि कुमार ने उसकी 13 साल की बेटी से जुड़े एक ब्लैकमेल और उगाही के मामले में उसे समझौता करने के लिए दबाव डाला। आरोप है कि बेटी को इंस्टाग्राम पर ब्लैकमेल किया गया, जिसके बाद ₹1.52 लाख की उगाही हुई। महिला का कहना है कि जब वह पुलिस के पास पहुंची, तो कुमार और एक अन्य अधिकारी ने कार्रवाई करने के बजाय उसे समझौता करने के लिए मजबूर किया। चौकी प्रभारी शिव सिंह के खिलाफ भी जांच के आदेश दिए गए हैं।
