LVMH Fashion Sales Decline Again Amid Uneven Luxury Demand
Times of India · business
LVMH, the luxury conglomerate owning Louis Vuitton and Dior, reported a 5% drop in organic sales for its fashion and leather goods division in the third quarter. This decline, attributed partly to weaker demand in China, follows a brief return to growth and raises concerns about the industry's recovery pace. While sales remained strong in the US, Europe, and Japan, a slowdown in Chinese consumer spending, influenced by economic uncertainty and property market concerns, impacted performance. LVMH's CFO noted that the economic backdrop is delaying, not derailing, the recovery.
