Eight Trekkers Missing After Avalanche Hits Kedartal Track In Uttarakhand

Eight members of a trekking expedition, including five from Bankura district in West Bengal, have gone missing after being caught in an avalanche and sudden snowfall on the Kedartal track in Uttarakhand. The missing trekkers from Bankura have been identified as Tapas Bawri, Ratan Ghosh, Rintu Mandal, Uday Ghosh, and Manoj Khawas. Two others are from Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, and one from Uttarkashi, Uttarakhand. A 12-member team had set out from Gangotri, but eight members got trapped at an altitude of approximately 4,000 meters.
