Former Army Havaldar Upputholla Mallesh, accused of stealing 12 firearms and over 1,800 rounds of ammunition from Bolarum, has claimed that eight other individuals assisted him. This contradicts his earlier statement of acting alone. Investigators are currently verifying the alleged roles of these individuals, including some security guards. Mallesh reportedly cited a grudge against his former superiors as the primary motive, but also intended to profit by selling the stolen weapons. His police custody is set to end on October 1.
