The West Bengal Fire and Emergency Services Department has issued notices to three prominent Durga Puja committees in south Kolkata over alleged deficiencies in fire safety arrangements. Notices were sent to Chetla Agrani, Ballygunge Cultural Association, and Tridhara Sammilani after inspections found shortcomings. The department also directed the immediate removal of unauthorised temporary commercial structures and hazardous stalls near pandals due to serious fire safety concerns. These inspections follow a stampede at the Chorbagan pandal that claimed 19 lives, prompting intensified scrutiny of safety measures at major puja venues.

पश्चिम बंगाल फायर एंड इमरजेंसी सर्विसेज डिपार्टमेंट ने दक्षिण कोलकाता की तीन प्रमुख दुर्गा पूजा समितियों को आग से सुरक्षा की व्यवस्थाओं में कथित खामियों को लेकर नोटिस जारी किए हैं। चेतला अग्रानी, बालीवुडगंज कल्चरल एसोसिएशन और त्रिधारा सम्मिलानी को निरीक्षण में कमियां पाए जाने के बाद नोटिस भेजे गए। विभाग ने गंभीर आग से सुरक्षा चिंताओं के कारण पंडालों के पास अनधिकृत अस्थायी व्यावसायिक ढांचों और खतरनाक स्टालों को तत्काल हटाने का भी निर्देश दिया। ये निरीक्षण चोरবাগান पंडाल में हुई भगदड़ के बाद हुए, जिसमें 19 लोगों की जान चली गई थी, जिसके कारण प्रमुख पूजा स्थलों पर सुरक्षा उपायों की गहन जांच की गई।
