Student union elections in Odisha, held after an eight-year gap, have triggered a sharp exchange between the ruling BJP and the opposition BJD. The polls, which saw widespread violence between the ABVP and BCJD, concluded with results announced for colleges and universities. While winners took oaths, campuses were vacated for Dasara holidays to prevent further unrest. The Director General of Police assured action against any non-student interference. Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi attributed the ABVP's performance to Gen-Z's trust in Prime Minister Modi.
