Mumbai experienced a second consecutive day of sweltering heat on Friday, with the Santacruz weather station recording a high of 37.8°C, exceeding the normal temperature by 4.7°C. This marks the third highest October temperature recorded at Santacruz since 1951. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for heatwave conditions in Mumbai and Thane, and a warning for hot and humid weather in isolated areas on Saturday. An anticyclone over the region has stalled the sea breeze, contributing to the rising temperatures.
