KGBV Teachers to Be Regularised, Allahabad HC Orders UP Govt

The Allahabad High Court has ordered the Uttar Pradesh government to regularise teachers working on contract at Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas (KGBVs). The court criticised the state for not creating permanent posts and providing equal pay and service benefits, calling the practice akin to forced labour. A single bench directed the government to create permanent posts and frame service rules within four months, ensuring these benefits extend to all KGBV teachers across the state. The court also mandated an interim monthly honorarium of ₹17,000 for these teachers.
