Andhra Floods Cause ₹150 Crore Crop Damage

The Hindu · india

Floods in Andhra Pradesh's Srikakulam district have caused an estimated ₹150 crore in damages, primarily affecting paddy crops. Unprecedented inundation from rivers like the Nagavali and Vamsadhara has submerged standing crops in several mandals, leaving farmers concerned about their investments. While water levels are receding in most areas, low-lying villages like Allina still have standing water in fields. Agriculture scientists are expected to visit affected areas to provide recommendations for crop protection and farmers are assured of sufficient water for the Rabi season.
