Heavy rains have caused the Godavari River to flood for the second time in six days, impacting Andhra Pradesh. Initial estimates indicate damage to horticultural crops in over 1,734 hectares and agricultural crops in approximately 44,029 hectares, affecting an estimated 71,796 farmers. Additionally, around 2,405 km of roads have been damaged across the state, with preliminary restoration costs estimated at ₹1,498.30 crore. Flood alerts have been issued for 171 villages in Polavaram district, and relief operations are underway.
