Al Jazeera · world
Yemen's ongoing conflict has severely impacted critically ill patients needing overseas treatment, with repeated airport closures and air attacks hindering access to vital medical care. Rajaa Ghirsan, a seamstress from Sanaa, has waited seven years for a flight to Amman for a life-saving operation due to disruptions at Sanaa International Airport. The Houthi-run Ministry of Health reports that around 400,000 patients, including 250,000 requiring treatment abroad, have been affected. These disruptions also impact over 125,000 cancer patients facing medicine shortages, exacerbating the country's health crisis.
