Foreign-Inspired Terrorism Largely Contained in India, Says Home Secretary
Times of India · politics
Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan stated that foreign-inspired terrorism is no longer visible across India, with homegrown terrorism nearly eliminated. He noted that militant Naxalism has ended and insurgency in the North East has been reduced to minuscule levels. Mohan identified narcotics, cybercrime, and illegal immigration as key challenges for IPS trainees. These remarks coincide with a push for stronger regional cooperation against terrorism and organised crime, as highlighted by Union Home Minister Amit Shah at the BIMSTEC meeting.
