Cuba Faces Nationwide Blackout Amid Fuel Shortages

Cuba experienced a nationwide blackout on Friday, leaving millions without electricity due to fuel shortages and deteriorating infrastructure. The Energy Ministry reported a total disconnection of the electrical system, with only 5% of Havana having power. This marks the seventh blackout this year and the twelfth since late 2024. The crisis is exacerbated by US sanctions, which have restricted fuel imports, while Washington blames Cuba's state-run economic model for the outages.

शुक्रवार को क्यूबा में पूरे देश में बिजली गुल हो गई। ईंधन की कमी और खराब इंफ्रास्ट्रक्चर के चलते लाखों लोग अंधेरे में डूब गए। एनर्जी मिनिस्ट्री ने बताया कि इलेक्ट्रिकल सिस्टम पूरी तरह ठप हो गया, सिर्फ हवाना के 5% हिस्से में बिजली थी। इस साल यह सातवीं और 2024 के अंत से बारहवीं बार है जब ऐसा हुआ है। अमेरिका के प्रतिबंधों से ईंधन आयात मुश्किल हो गया है, जबकि वाशिंगटन क्यूबा के सरकारी मॉडल को इसका जिम्मेदार ठहरा रहा है।
