A 17-year-old D-Pharmacy student who lost both his legs in a 2019 motorcycle accident has been awarded ₹23 lakh compensation by the Motor Accident Claims Tribunal in Mohali. The tribunal ruled that both the motorcycle rider and an unidentified tractor-trailer driver contributed to the crash. The National Insurance Company Ltd was directed to pay the compensation with 6% annual interest, but allowed to recover the amount from the motorcycle's owner and rider. The victim, a pillion rider, suffered permanent disability after both legs were amputated above the knees.

मोहाली की मोटर एक्सीडेंट क्लेम्स ट्रिब्यूनल ने 2019 में मोटरसाइकिल दुर्घटना में अपने दोनों पैर गंवाने वाले 17 वर्षीय डी-फार्मेसी छात्र को ₹23 लाख का मुआवज़ा देने का आदेश दिया है। ट्रिब्यूनल ने फैसला सुनाया कि दुर्घटना के लिए मोटरसाइकिल सवार और एक अज्ञात ट्रैक्टर-ट्रॉली चालक दोनों जिम्मेदार थे। नेशनल इंश्योरेंस कंपनी लिमिटेड को 6% वार्षिक ब्याज के साथ मुआवज़ा देने का निर्देश दिया गया है, लेकिन उसे मोटरसाइकिल के मालिक और सवार से यह राशि वसूलने की अनुमति दी गई है। पीड़ित, जो पीछे बैठा था, दोनों पैर घुटनों के ऊपर से काटे जाने के बाद स्थायी विकलांग हो गया था।
