A consumer in Andhra Pradesh has won a significant refund for a Kia Sonet diesel SUV purchased in 2022 for Rs 13.69 lakh. The vehicle repeatedly developed diesel particulate filter (DPF) problems despite multiple repair attempts by the authorised service centre. The Kurnool District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission directed the manufacturer and dealer to refund the ex-showroom price, plus interest, to the owner. The buyer had documented recurring DPF issues even after major repairs and software upgrades, establishing a persistent fault.

आंध्र प्रदेश के एक उपभोक्ता ने 2022 में 13.69 लाख रुपये में खरीदी गई Kia Sonet डीजल SUV के लिए एक बड़ी वापसी जीती है। अधिकृत सर्विस सेंटर द्वारा कई बार मरम्मत के प्रयासों के बावजूद वाहन में बार-बार डीजल पार्टिकुलेट फ़िल्टर (DPF) की समस्याएँ हुईं। कुरनूल जिला उपभोक्ता विवाद निवारण आयोग ने निर्माता और डीलर को मालिक को एक्स-शोरूम कीमत, साथ ही ब्याज वापस करने का निर्देश दिया। खरीदार ने प्रमुख मरम्मत और सॉफ्टवेयर अपग्रेड के बाद भी बार-बार होने वाली DPF समस्याओं का दस्तावेजीकरण किया था, जिससे एक स्थायी खराबी स्थापित हुई।
