Palika Bazaar Vendors Reject Temporary Shift, Demand In-Market Accommodation
Times of India · india
Vendors at Palika Bazaar in Ponda have refused to move to a temporary location arranged by the Ponda Municipal Council (PMC). They are insisting on being accommodated within or around the existing market complex. Approximately 50 vendors, including named individuals, met with the chief officer to present their demands. They cited past losses incurred by vendors who shifted during the Covid-19 pandemic. The PMC plans to rebuild the complex and will conduct a new survey to assess vendor capacity in the proposed open space.
