Tamil Nadu Minister: TVK Not Seeking AIADMK Defections, Will Accept If Offered

Tamil Nadu's ruling TVK party will not actively recruit defectors from the AIADMK, according to state health minister K G Arunraj. However, he indicated the party would consider accepting legislators who leave the AIADMK due to internal differences. This statement follows a Madras High Court ruling upholding the Speaker's acceptance of AIADMK legislators' resignations after they joined the TVK. The court verified the resignations were voluntary, though disqualification proceedings may continue. The TVK formed the government with support after winning fewer seats than required for a majority.

तमिलनाडु के स्वास्थ्य मंत्री के जी अरुणराज ने कहा कि सत्तारूढ़ टीवीके पार्टी सक्रिय रूप से एआईएडीएमके से विधायकों को अपने पाले में लाने की कोशिश नहीं करेगी। हालांकि, उन्होंने संकेत दिया कि अगर एआईएडीएमके के विधायक आंतरिक मतभेदों के कारण पार्टी छोड़ते हैं तो पार्टी उन्हें स्वीकार करने पर विचार करेगी। यह बयान मद्रास हाई कोर्ट के उस फैसले के बाद आया है जिसमें स्पीकर द्वारा एआईएडीएमके विधायकों के इस्तीफे को स्वीकार करने को बरकरार रखा गया था, जिन्होंने टीवीके में शामिल होने के लिए इस्तीफा दिया था। अदालत ने इस्तीफे को स्वैच्छिक माना, हालांकि अयोग्यता की कार्यवाही जारी रह सकती है।
