Cybersecurity Agency Warns Banks & Fintechs Against AI-Led Cyberattacks

The Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C) has issued an advisory warning financial institutions about the increasing use of AI agents by cyberattackers for financial fraud. Attackers are exploiting unpatched software and misconfigured servers to gain access, conduct unauthorized transactions running into crores, and then delete records to hinder investigations. The agency advises institutions to urgently implement advisories, report incidents promptly, test APIs, strengthen customer-facing infrastructure, and improve coordination between security teams. This warning highlights how AI is accelerating cyber fraud threats for financial services firms.
