Speculators Increase Net Short Pound Futures

Large currency speculators have slightly increased their net short position in Pound futures. According to the latest Commitment of Traders data from the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, non-commercial futures contracts for the Pound reached a net short of 58,836 contracts as of September 08, 2026. This represents a weekly increase of 9,261 net short contracts. This activity indicates growing bearish sentiment among major market participants regarding the future value of the Pound.
