In a surprising turn of events in Nagaur, Rajasthan, an independent candidate, Mohammad Sharif Qureshi, has been elected Deputy Mayor of the Nagaur Municipal Council, defeating the BJP candidate by five votes. Despite the BJP securing a majority with 55 councillors, internal dissent led to their candidate receiving only 27 votes. Qureshi garnered 32 votes. राजस्थान के नागौर में एक चौंकाने वाला नतीजा आया है। निर्दलीय उम्मीदवार मोहम्मद शरीफ कुरैशी नागौर नगर परिषद के डिप्टी मेयर चुन लिए गए हैं। उन्होंने बीजेपी उम्मीदवार को पाँच वोटों से हराया। बीजेपी के पास 55 पार्षद होने के बावजूद, पार्टी के अंदरूनी कलह के कारण उनके उम्मीदवार को सिर्फ 27 वोट मिले, जबकि कुरैशी को 32 वोट मिले। यह दिखाता है कि पार्टियों के अंदर कितनी समस्याएँ हैं और निर्दलीय उम्मीदवार भी अब लोकल पॉलिटिक्स में अपनी जगह बना रहे हैं।
