The Uttar Pradesh government has sanctioned ₹5 crore to enhance the capabilities of its Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) and special operations units. This funding, allocated for the 2026-27 financial year, will be used to procure specialized equipment for counter-terrorism and bomb disposal. Key acquisitions include explosive ordnance disposal bomb suits, handheld explosive-vapour detectors, and night-vision monoculars. The move aims to bolster the operational readiness of these units in responding to security threats and conducting covert surveillance operations effectively.
