Industries operating in the Vazhavanthankottai Sidco industrial estate near Thuvakudi have requested assistance from TanSidco to finalize a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This is crucial for accessing Micro and Small Enterprises – Cluster Development Programme (MSE-CDP) funds to address critical infrastructure deficiencies. The 230.7-acre estate, housing sectors like heavy engineering and food processing, suffers from inadequate roads, streetlights, and safety measures. An underutilised centre of excellence and a potentially rejuvenating waterbody are also noted issues. The estate's lack of a compound wall leads to theft, impacting operations.
