Construction Robot Startup Origin Raises $20 Million To Automate Interior Work

Construction-robot startup Origin has raised $20 million in funding, co-led by Accel and Zacua Ventures, to automate interior construction tasks. The company aims to deploy its flagship robot, OG-1, which autonomously completes wall-finishing workflows including applying compound, sanding, and priming. The funding will also support large-scale pilots in the US and Europe, with additional deployments planned in Germany, Sweden, France, and Saudi Arabia. Origin's robot is designed to work safely alongside human crews and can handle tasks up to 14 feet high.
