Canada has removed a 2025 intelligence report from its security service that identified India as the "second most pervasive foreign interference perpetrator" in the country. The report, which cited China as the primary perpetrator, was recently highlighted by the separatist group Sikhs for Justice for propaganda purposes. The document had stated India possesses the intent and capability to interfere in Canadian communities and democratic processes to assert its geopolitical influence. This action follows a period of strained relations between Canada and India, including mutual diplomatic expulsions in October 2024.
