VHP has criticized filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri for his recent statements questioning Hinduism. VHP spokesperson Vinod Bansal questioned Agnihotri's authority to comment on Hindu practices and asked why he doesn't critique other religions similarly. Bansal also stated that Agnihotri's comment about people not needing to preach about Hinduism, as everyone is already wise, also applies to the film industry. Agnihotri had shared a video of a crowded temple in Uttarakhand, suggesting that taxing religion could make India the richest country by encouraging innovation over faith.
