Pune Techie Dies By Suicide, Dowry Demand Alleged

A 23-year-old IT employee in Pune died by suicide at her matrimonial home, months after her marriage. Her family alleges she was harassed by her husband and in-laws for a dowry of Rs 5 lakh for a car. The family claims they had already spent Rs 45 lakh and given gold during the wedding. The woman had reportedly spoken to her mother about the harassment before her death. Police have arrested the husband and his parents, investigating the dowry demand and abetment of suicide allegations.
