Panjab University Proposes New Global Scientist Ranking Framework

Panjab University has proposed a new global scientist ranking framework to the Union ministry of education. Titled "Panjab University Global Scientist Ranking Framework" (PU-SRF), it aims to evaluate researchers by incorporating patents, research quality, funding, and international collaborations, going beyond standard citation counts. The proposal was approved by the vice-chancellor, and forwarded to the UGC for consideration. This framework is designed to complement existing metrics like the Stanford–Elsevier Top 2% Scientists database by using a data-driven weighting system for multi-dimensional research contributions.

पंजाब यूनिवर्सिटी ने शिक्षा मंत्रालय को एक नया ग्लोबल साइंटिस्ट रैंकिंग फ्रेमवर्क प्रस्तावित किया है। "पंजाब यूनिवर्सिटी ग्लोबल साइंटिस्ट रैंकिंग फ्रेमवर्क" (PU-SRF) नाम का यह ढांचा पेटेंट, शोध की गुणवत्ता, फंडिंग और अंतरराष्ट्रीय सहयोग को शामिल करके शोधकर्ताओं का मूल्यांकन करने का लक्ष्य रखता है, जो सामान्य उद्धरण गणनाओं से आगे जाता है। प्रस्ताव को वाइस-चांसलर ने मंजूरी दे दी है और विचार के लिए UGC को भेज दिया गया है। यह ढांचा बहुआयामी शोध योगदानों के लिए डेटा-संचालित वेटिंग सिस्टम का उपयोग करके स्टैनफोर्ड-एल्सेवियर टॉप 2% साइंटिस्ट्स डेटाबेस जैसे मौजूदा मेट्रिक्स को पूरा करने के लिए डिज़ाइन किया गया है।
