ECI Orders Action Against Police, Polling Staff Over Agra MLC Poll Anomalies

The Election Commission of India (ECI) has ordered action against police and polling personnel for irregularities during the Agra teachers' constituency Legislative Council election. Uttar Pradesh Chief Electoral Officer Navdeep Rinwa stated that accountability will be fixed for those responsible for malpractices leading to repolling. An inquiry has been ordered, with a report due by October 25. Personnel involved in the irregularities will not be assigned repolling duties. Repolling is scheduled for October 26 at three polling stations, with vote counting on October 27.

चुनाव आयोग (ECI) ने आगरा शिक्षक निर्वाचन क्षेत्र विधान परिषद चुनाव के दौरान अनियमितताओं के लिए पुलिस और मतदान कर्मियों के खिलाफ कार्रवाई का आदेश दिया है। उत्तर प्रदेश के मुख्य निर्वाचन अधिकारी नवदीप रिणवा ने कहा कि पुनर्मतदान कराने के लिए जिम्मेदार लोगों की जवाबदेही तय की जाएगी। एक जांच का आदेश दिया गया है, जिसकी रिपोर्ट 25 अक्टूबर तक आनी है। गड़बड़ी में शामिल कर्मियों को पुनर्मतदान की ड्यूटी नहीं सौंपी जाएगी। पुनर्मतदान 26 अक्टूबर को तीन मतदान केंद्रों पर होना है, और वोटों की गिनती 27 अक्टूबर को होगी।
