Bombay HC Dismisses Raut's Plea Against Rane's Win

The Bombay High Court has dismissed an election petition filed by Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Vinayak Raut challenging the Lok Sabha victory of BJP MP Narayan Rane. The court found non-compliance with legal provisions, stating that bald allegations without basis are insufficient for an election petition. Justice Shailesh Brahme accepted arguments that substantial defects in the petition, related to material facts and particulars, cannot be cured. Rane's lawyer had argued the petition lacked necessary details and had incurable defects in verification. The dismissal upholds Rane's election from the Ratnagiri-Sindhudurg constituency.
