Four Porters Escape Kedartal Avalanche By Following Bear Tracks

Times of India · top

Four porters were stranded for two nights at Bhojkhadak following an avalanche at Kedartal on October 29. Continuous avalanches made descent impossible, and they survived on a single packet of porridge. On October 31, as the weather cleared, they spotted bear tracks leading downhill. Following these tracks, they managed to descend and reach safety. Meanwhile, rescue operations continue for the sixth day as seven trekkers remain missing in the same area.
