FDA has implemented strict measures to prevent the resale of expired and damaged food items. FDA Commissioner Tukaram Mundhe issued an order requiring companies to provide concrete proof of destruction for such goods, as mere certificates will no longer suffice. This action follows instances where expired food was destroyed only on paper and then resold through agents, with some cases involving alteration of expiry dates.
