The Hindu · india

The industrial town of Rajam in Vizianagaram district is set to hold local body elections after a 20-year hiatus. Legal disputes over the merger of neighbouring villages had stalled the elections for nearly two decades. Rajam MLA Kondru Murali Mohan played a key role in resolving these issues, with residents agreeing to withdraw their cases. The State Election Commission is expected to conduct the elections within the next couple of months, paving the way for the town's development under an elected body.
