Douglas County, Georgia, commissioners have rejected a proposed 700-acre data-centre campus for the second time in seven months. The development, by East Village Dothan LLC, aimed to construct a 4.4 million square foot campus. Residents voiced concerns about potential impacts on neighbourhoods, natural resources, noise, water, and electricity. County officials also cited inconsistencies with long-term growth plans and suitability for such a large facility. The planning commission had recommended denial, and commissioners voted 4-1 against the rezoning request.
