Delhi Police has detained over 1,000 individuals, including social media influencer Dhruv Rathee, for attempting to protest at Jantar Mantar without permission. CJP had planned a demonstration against the Chief Election Commissioner, but authorities denied permission citing security concerns. Rathee, who had travelled from Germany to attend, was taken into custody from his Gurugram residence. Police have heightened security across the capital, with barricades and heavy troop deployment, and have set up detention centres in various locations, including stadiums, to manage the situation.
