A 74-year-old Ohio woman is suing Selby General Hospital after her left leg was amputated in September 2025, when the surgery was intended for her right leg. The Army veteran underwent a second amputation four months later to remove the correct leg, making her a double amputee. The lawsuit, filed by Sharon Jacks and her husband, names nine defendants including the hospital and surgical teams, alleging gross negligence and reckless conduct.
