The Maritime Security Centre Indian Ocean warned that the hijacked ship is approaching a commercial shipping lane and could be used as a base for further attacks. The vessel was hijacked on Thursday, October 29, 2026, with 12 pirates taking control. The EU's naval Operation Atalanta is investigating the incident, urging ships in the area to remain vigilant.
