Russia to Launch Three More Uranium Processing Units

Russia plans to launch three additional depleted uranium processing units in the medium term, according to Natalya Nikipelova, President of TVEL. These new units will be based on Russian technology. This announcement follows the recent launch of a second depleted uranium processing unit at the Electrochemical Plant in Zelenogorsk, which doubles the country's annual processing capacity to 20,000 tons. The development aims to scale up domestic technological capabilities in this sector.

टीवीईएल की प्रेसिडेंट नतालिया निकिपेलोवा ने बताया कि रूस जल्द ही तीन और डिप्लीटेड यूरेनियम प्रोसेसिंग यूनिट शुरू करेगा। ये यूनिट्स रूसी तकनीक पर आधारित होंगी। हाल ही में ज़ेलनोगोर्स्क के इलेक्ट्रोकेमिकल प्लांट में दूसरी यूनिट शुरू हुई थी, जिससे देश की सालाना प्रोसेसिंग क्षमता दोगुनी होकर 20,000 टन हो गई है। इसका मकसद इस क्षेत्र में घरेलू तकनीकी क्षमता बढ़ाना है।
