The Supreme Court has ruled that call records alone are insufficient to prove an illicit affair leading to murder. The court acquitted a woman accused in a 2007 case, stating that mere production of telephone records does not substitute for substantive evidence. सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने कहा है कि सिर्फ कॉल रिकॉर्ड के आधार पर हत्या के मामले में नाजायज़ संबंध साबित नहीं किया जा सकता। कोर्ट ने 2007 के एक मामले में एक महिला को बरी कर दिया। कोर्ट ने साफ किया कि सिर्फ फोन रिकॉर्ड पेश करना, ठोस सबूत का विकल्प नहीं है। इस अहम फैसले से यह स्पष्ट हो गया है कि ऐसे गंभीर आपराधिक मामलों में दोषी साबित करने के लिए डिजिटल सबूतों को अन्य पुख्ता सबूतों से भी जोड़ना ज़रूरी है।
